The Dodgers’ battles with the former leader of the rival San Francisco Giants’ staff have turned one-sided. Bumgarner has not beaten the Dodgers since 2017. In 11 starts against them since then, he is 0-8 with a 4.15 ERA – and 14 home runs allowed. Bumgarner got ahead of Rios 1-and-2 and tried to tie him up with a fastball up and in. Rios hammered it over the right-field wall for a three-run homer. It was only the fourth of Rios’ 19 career home runs to come off a left-handed pitcher, the first since 2020.
