A documentary on the deadly 2018 San Marcos apartment fire seeks to bring answers to victims’ families. | via TexasStandard
“When I was in the hospital one time visiting Zach, his mom started talking to me about maybe making a documentary about the whole thing, and at the time I humored her; I was like, ‘yeah, that might be a good idea.’ But really I was thinking, ‘there’s no way in hell I would ever do that,’” Frizzell said. “But as time went on, we didn’t have any answers. We still, to this day, don’t know who lit the fire.
“I think it was pretty powerful. I think it had the intended effect. A lot of my family and the families of those who passed told me that it was exactly what they were hoping for,” Frizzell said. “I saw a little bit of some family reconciliation at the end of the screening.”
