This comes after Pagoh MP Muhyiddin Yassin, who is the Perikatan Nasional chairman, urged the government to allocate RM300,000 to MPs from constituencies in various states that have been affected by floods. “How do they categorise themselves if they label us as ‘cruel’ since they themselves don’t allocate in their own states?”Anwar was speaking to the media during an event to mark National Craft Day at the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex.
Commenting on Muhyiddin’s proposal to double the flood aid to Johor from RM50 million to RM100 million, Anwar said that the RM50 million in flood aid went straight to the flood victims, without any “commission”. “We gave first. Besides, there is no commission, so the amount goes directly to victims.”Anwar added that aid to Johor would have reached almost RM1 billion if flood mitigation projects were included.
