Republicans are using sympathy for abuse victims to hide their true intentions.

Republicans are pushing Senate Bill 1 to amend the State Constitution. This bill is a classic sleight-of-hand trick. Section 1 is about helping abuse victims, but that is just a smoke screen. The other parts of the bill give the House power to over-ride the governor and creates voter suppression with strict voter ID requirements.

The provision for abuse victims only creates a two-year window for them to file legal action. Why amend the Constitution for something that only lasts 2 years? Helping victims is not the real agenda. The goal is rigging the system.
