After more than 40 years, San Antonio police have made an arrest in the case of a missing 18-year-old who was found dead at a Comal County rest stop thanks to genealogy testing.

Larry West, 68, was charged Thursday with murder in connection with the death of Carol Deleon in 1981. He is being held on $125,000 bail at the Bexar County Jail. Police were able to determine that despite her appearance, there were no indications of sexual assault. The body of 18-year-old Carol Deleon was found June 4, 1981, on the grassy shoulder of Interstate 35 near a Comal County rest stop. San Antonio man Larry West was arrested Thursday in connection with her death.Deleon had lived near West Avenue in San Antonio and graduated from Thomas Edison High School just days before her body was found, according to the Texas Rangers. Officials believe she was last seen at a San Antonio night club the day before she went missing on June 3.
