THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on Thursday announced that the agency, together with the Bagong Bayani Foundation Inc. (BBFI), will honor outstanding overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

With the theme 'Mga Bagong Bayani: Kabalikat sa Patuloy na Pag-unlad,' the recognition will take place through the 2023 Bagong Bayani Awards on August 23, at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.The department said the annual awards aim to recognize and honor OFWs who embody the Filipino worker's professionalism and excellence.

It also aims to acknowledge the exemplary deeds done in their respective communities and their valuable contributions to the economic development of the country.The recognition has five categories: the Outstanding Employee Award; Community and Social Service Award; Culture and the Arts Award; Capt. Gregorio S. Oca Achievement Award; and the Blas F. Ople Award para sa Natatanging Bagong Bayani.
