DE LA SALLE University aims to dethrone last year's finals tormentor and reigning champion National University in Game 2 of the UAAP Season 85 women's volleyball Finals on Sunday, May 14, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Game is set at 4 p.m., succeeding the men's Finals Game 2 between the three-peat-seeking NU Bulldogs and the UST Golden Spikers.NU leads that men's best-of-3 championship series, 1-0.Like the NU men's team, the Lady Spikers also lead the Lady Bulldogs, 1-0, in their own best-of-3 series after taking Game 1, 18-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, 15-13, last Sunday, May 7 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
And we did win Game 1, but we won't stop because there's still a next game,' said super rookie Angel Canino, who led La Salle in Game 1 with 21 points.Canino drew solid help from Thea Gagate in the said contest as the latter poured in 17 points.Lady Spikers assistant coach Noel Orcullo echoed Canino's sentiments.'As Angel said, the series is not yet over. We have something to prepare for. We're just going to continue what we do in training. Nothing's going to change.
