An explosive report has said Tony Gustavsson will no longer be in charge of the Matildas after the Olympic Games in Paris. The Matildas’ Paris campaign is hanging by a thread after they were badly beaten by Germany and somehow pulled off a miracle win against Zambia, despite conceding 5 goals. They have had eight goals scored against them in two matches and at times their defence has looked all at sea in a leaky boat.

The report said: Several sources have described the team as being a “mess” on the field and it is understood the women have endured “disorganised direction” from the coach. The report also highlighted Gustavsson “contradictions”, referring to his comment before the Olympics that the team was “ready to go” but then saying that they “weren’t ready” after Germany ripped them apart. Superstar striker Sam Kerr was also mentioned, saying “her absence is being felt in France”.
