The court filing comes after Disney filed its own lawsuit on Wednesday against the state and the board in federal court, accusing the DeSantis Administration of waging a “targeted campaign of government retaliation” that “violates its constitutional rights.” Disney’s lawsuit asks the court to reinforce the agreement enacted by the previous board that allows the company to make decisions for the special district without the board’s approval, such as approving new projects and selling development rights to other landowners.
Disney’s lawsuit also asked the court to overturn new laws enacted by the state legislature that gave DeSantis control over the board.on Monday, telling the outlet “this board is trying to bring new and better ideas to the district,” adding “it makes sense to all my friends on the right and left.
