Former New York governor George Pataki says it is “disappointing” but “not surprising” that US President Joe Biden is absent from this year’s 9/11 memorial service at Ground Zero. His comments come after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Vice President Kamala Harris were spotted attending the Manhattan service. “I don’t think President Biden wants to have anything to do with September 11th,” Mr Pataki told Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan. “First of all, it resulted in the Afghanistan war and how that ended under Biden’s watch was a catastrophe that we’re going to be paying for years to come. “I think he wants to distance himself from this as much as possible.”
