A 39-year-old man with disabilities, Zizi Azmi Zainal Azami, was thrown off his motorcycle after it crashed into an exposed manhole cover on Jalan Sekendi in Sabak Bernam. The incident occurred around 4:50 PM yesterday, injuring Azami's hands, shoulder, and right knee. Azami, who was on his way to work at a car wash in Bagan Nakhoda Omar, stated that he did not notice the protruding manhole cover. He expressed gratitude for surviving the accident and avoiding being hit by other vehicles. Following the incident, he received treatment at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Jemaah (HTAJ) in Sabak Bernam. Local resident Khairi Jamil called for immediate action to address the issue of exposed manhole covers, citing a recurring occurrence that poses a threat to road users.

Menurut Zizi yang juga OKU fizikal, ketika kejadian dia sedang menuju ke tempat kerjanya di sebuah pusat cuci kenderaan di Bagan Nakhoda Omar. “Perlanggaran itu menyebabkan saya tercampak dan terjatuh tiga meter dari lokasi berkenaan,” katanya hari ini.
