Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Benjamin Diokno expressed confidence that the agency will hit its digitalization targets before the end of 2022.
He made the statement during the recently held Institute of International Finance Asia Pacific Summit. In a separate statement, the BSP reported that the combined transactions using PESONet and InstaPay in April surged in terms of volume and value compared to the same month last year.It added that 82 BSP-Supervised Financial Institutions are currently participating under PESONet, while 52 are in InstaPay as of end April.
This system entails code scanning and provides consumers with faster, easier, cheaper and more convenient payment options, the agency explained.
