Acclaimed actress Dianne Wiest will officially be leaving her series regular role in the Mayor of Kingstown Season 3.

According to the outlet’s sources, Wiest’s exit has already been written into the Season 3 scripts even before the writers strike began.Mayor of Kingstown hails from Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan, which marks his latest collaboration with Paramount following his hit family drama Yellowstone. Despite sustaining life-threatening injuries due to a snowcat accident, Jeremy Renner is still set to reprise his leading role as Mike McLusky in Season 3.
“The series follows the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry,” reads the logline. “Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.”
