Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP) has canceled stand-up comedian Harith Iskander's show scheduled for Saturday, January 25th, due to his recent Facebook post deemed insensitive towards Islam. The cancellation follows a police report filed by comedian Shahrol Shiro against Iskander for allegedly mocking and insulting the purity of Islam. A commentator, Cecelia Yap Song KL, is also being investigated alongside Iskander.
PETALING JAYA: The Dewan Filharmonik Petronas has cancelled the stand-up comedy show by Harith Iskander, under the DFP Punchline Series which is scheduled for Saturday over insensitive comments made by the comedian on Islam .
“All exchanges or refund requests are to be made by Saturday, February 8, 2025. For assistance, please contact the Box Office at 03-2331 7007 or email [email protected]. The cancellation came following a recent Facebook post made by Harith who uploaded a photo of a coffee drink named “ham sap kopi” and a caption.On Monday , comedian Shahrol Shiro, also known as Shahrol Azizie Azmi, 41, lodged a police report against Harith in Kluang police station, reported mStar.
"Harith Iskander and Cecelia Yap, police report on!" he said through a post on Instagram, where he also shared a photo of the police report.
