PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Palestinian Friendship Committee in Parliament should work with other cluster parliamentarians to champion the Palestinian cause, says Tan Sri Mohamad Ariff Md YusofThe Dewan Rakyat Speaker said working together with other clusters will result in a joint force that will further convince other parliamentarians the world over that the issues of Palestine and Al-Quds are very important.
"Thus, it is important for parliamentarians across various countries to act as a joint collective community," he told a press conference on the sidelines of the third Annual Conference of The League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds on Saturday . A delegation, led by the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds president Sheikh Hamid Abdullah Al-Ahmar, has even briefed a special select committee on the latest development in regards to the issue of Palestine, he added."Such efforts are important in order to get the latest information so that we are better prepared in fighting for justice for the Palestinians," Mohamad Ariff said.
"In fact, Sheikh Hamid's delegation was so impressed by our caucus as it transcends religions and cultures. We have people of various ethnicity and background, not just Muslims," he said."In 2018, a motion condemning the bombing of Gaza was passed.
