PETALING JAYA: The Dewan Rakyat observed a moment of silence for the people of Turkiye and Syria following a 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit parts of the two countries recently.
In his opening speech, The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah extended his condolences to the people of Turkiye and Syria.
"Indeed, Malaysia is deeply saddened by the incident," he said on Monday , before asking MPs to stand and observe a moment of silence.
