Todd Interests is calling for an investigation into the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's handling of the Fairfield Lake State Park.
the firm requested documentation of a variety of internal and external communications from TPWD. The requests asked for communications between commissioners and between TPWD staff as well as conversations TPWD employees had with the former owner of the land, state legislators, journalists, members of the public who spoke at a public hearing and others. The firm also requested information on any conflict of interests the commissioners may have and whether they underwent department training.
Todd Interests believes TPWD commissioner chairman Arch “Beaver” Aplin III was one of the main players attempting to interfere with the firm’s purchase of the parkland and keep the department’s communications from being publicly published, according to Beckham. Because of that, the firm has called for Aplin’s resignation.
