KOTA KINABALU: A detainee at the Penampang police station has tested positive for Covid-19.
Penampang OCPD Deputy Supt Haris Ibrahim said this is the first case involving a detainee in Penampang lockup.
“The man is a 26-year-old who was detained during a previous Ops Dadu against gambling and immigration offences on June 10, ” he said. DSP Haris said after the man’s detention, he was brought to the Penampang health clinic for a Covid-19 swab test and his results came back positive a week later.Immediate measures were taken to identify and screen as well as quarantine officials and everyone who had come into contact with the suspect.Article type: metered
