Destiny2 developer Bungie has unveiled TheWitchQueen expansion's new crafting system, which the studio has explained in a new blog post and trailer.

Bungie, developer of Destiny 2, has explained the new weapon crafting feature that’s coming to the game in the upcoming The Witch Queen expansion. The latest Destiny 2 expansion is set for release on February 22, 2022, and Bungie has been ramping up its announcements on what players will be able to experience in the next chapter of the game. Just last week, the developer teased that Gunsmith Materials may disappear from Destiny 2 when The Witch Queen launches.

Gunsmith Materials and the Gunsmith Reputation Items Destiny 2 players can purchase with them aren’t the only items that will be disappearing from the game once The Witch Queen expansion is released later this month. The coming of a new expansion also signals the end of the game’s current Season of the Lost and Destiny 2’s fourth year of content. Because of this, some of the weapons introduced over the past year may no longer be obtainable in the game.

Crafting a Destiny 2: Witch Queen weapon will first require the player to obtain a Pattern, which are similar to crafting recipes from games like Pokémon Legends: Arceus. These can be obtained through quests, gameplay objectives, and more. Players will then need to collect the required materials as well as the compatible traits and perks they want to give their crafted weapon. Traits and perks can be sourced from weapons that have the new Deepsight Resonance ability.

The new crafting system may potentially change the way Destiny 2 players obtain new weapons in the game. Instead of farming for god rolls, players may instead opt to look for Deepsight Resonance weapons to collect their perks and simply create an optimal weapon themselves. With Sony in the process of buying Bungie, the future of Destiny 2 may also end up changing in the long run. Whether it’ll mean bigger events and expansions in the future or completely new games based on the Destiny IP, long-time fans definitely have something to look forward to. Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia. .
