Deshaun Watson's counterpart for the Cardinals will be rookie Clayton Tune.
Instead of having to outduel Kyler Murray in his second attempt at a comeback from his strained rotator cuff, Watson will go up against Cardinals fifth-round rookie Clayton Tune, who’s making his first NFL start. It would’ve been former Browns quarterback Joshua Dobbs, but the Cardinals traded him to Minnesota on Tuesday.Tune earned the nod Saturday afternoon when the 1-7 Cardinals didn’t activate Murray off of the physically unable to perform list by in time to play.

Garrett, tied for fourth in the NFL with 8.5 sacks and capable of wrecking the game, acknowledged that Murray would’ve been bigger challenge. “First of all, we had to clean up our mistakes, focus on ourself,” he said. “At the end of the day, man, I feel like they’ve got to stop us. We go into every week like that. If we come with our best self, with our best defense, with our mentality, we’re trying to be the best, man, and no matter who they put out there, we should take care of business in our minds.”
It won’t help Tune that all three of the Cardinals’ top three rushers will be missing from this game: their lead back, James Conner, is on injured reserve with a knee injury, their second back, undrafted rookie Emari Demercado, is out with a toe injury, and their second-leading rusher, Dobbs, is gone.
