Deshaun Watson made his Cleveland Browns debut Sunday after serving his 11-game suspension after facing accusations of sexual misconduct by more than two dozen massage therapists.
Whether the boos directed towards Watson were because of the fact that he’s playing for a team not named the Houston Texans, the sexual misconduct accusations, or both is unclear.
It doesn’t feel like a coincidence that the NFL made it so Watson’s first game as a member of the Browns was in Houston, against the team he helped lead to two AFC South titles in the four years he was there. Some Texans fans did give Watson a warm welcome during pregame warmups, and he autographed both Texans and Browns apparel.
