Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) approached single-digit polling numbers in a New Hampshire primary poll released Thursday, coming in 30 points behind the current GOP front-runner, former President Donald Trump.

Voters in the first-in-the-nation state overwhelmingly favored Trump at 41%, with DeSantis earning 11% of the support in a survey of 500 likely New Hampshire Republican Primary voters commissioned by American Greatness and run by National Research Inc. DeSantis's numbers have fallen since May, when he racked up 18% of support.Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Sen. Tim Scott trailed behind the Florida governor, tied at 8%.

Trump also leads DeSantis as the candidate voters believe has the “best chance of beating Joe Biden,” coming in at 37%, with the Florida governor sitting at 14%.Republican candidates have campaigned in New Hampshire early and often, where state law requires it to hold the first primary. Earlier this year, the Democratic National Committee voted on a new primary calendar, striking down New Hampshire's top spot status and giving the first spot to South Carolina.

DeSantis will have a chance to talk to New Hampshire voters this Sunday, headlining former Ambassador and onetime Massachusetts GOP Sen. Scott Brown's"No B.S. BBQ Series” event in Rye.
