Police in Los Angeles arrested a defensive starter for the National Football League's Rams on Monday after authorities said they found an illegal gun in his possession during a traffic stop.

Rams head coach Sean McVay, speaking to the media Monday, confirmed that cornerback Derion Kendrick had been arrested.“I’m just going to kind of leave it at that until I have all the appropriate information,” McVay said. “I don’t think it would be appropriate for me to speak on things that I don’t have the totality of … other than knowing he was arrested early this a.m.”Responding officers found a gun and marijuana inside his car at the scene.
