Denza Z9 GT finally arrived in Malaysia with a price tag of RM358,800. As the new flagship EV of Denza and BYD's family in Malaysia, what do you think of its pricing?

Denza Z9 GT is available in Malaysia with a starting price of. At launch, Denza Malaysia offers two exterior colours for the Z9 GT, including Rime Gold and Obsidian Black, as shown below.

Dark Chocolate + Red Velvet Positioned as Denza Malaysia’s flagship EV, the Z9 GT comes with a sleek shooting brake body style. In our market, it is available exclusively with the e³ Platform, which features a triple-motor all-wheel drive powertrain. The front axle uses a 230kW motor producing 410Nm, while there are also two independently controlled rear motors that deliver a combined 620kW and 800Nm.

Together, the Z9 GT has a maximum power output of 850kW alongside 1,210Nm of torque. The setup allows the Z9 GT to hit 0-100km/h in just 2.7 seconds. At the same time, the sports EV also has an electronically limited top speed of 240km/h. The Z9 GT for the Malaysian market also carries BYD’s LFP-based 2nd generation Blade Battery.

With a capacity of 122.49kWh, the new battery is said to deliver 5% higher energy density than the first-generation Blade Battery while supporting BYD’s 1,000V electrical architecture. This means the Z9 GT for our market supports the new BYD Flash Charge tech, which allows the battery to charge from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes, or from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes under compatible charging conditions.

BYD has recently confirmed thatOn a full charge, the Malaysian-spec Z9 GT can deliver 600km of WLTP-rated driving range or 701km under the NEDC standard. Beyond outright performance, the Z9 GT also features an active rear-wheel steering system with independent control. The feature allows the rear wheels to steer by up to 15 degrees. This reduces the turning circle to just 4.62 metres, making this 5,180mm long EV significantly easier to manoeuvre.

The Z9 GT also comes with several distinctive driving functions, including Crab Mode, where all four wheels steer in the same direction for diagonal movement. There’s also a “Pencil Compass Turn”, which allows the car to pivot into a tight parking space by independently rotating the rear wheels while the front wheels remain locked. Interestingly enough, Malaysian units will receive European suspension and damping tuning, according to BYD Malaysia.

Ride comfort is handled by BYD’s DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension with continuously variable damping, and while the EV’s standard ride height is 120mm, it can be adjusted from 100mm to 145mm. Denza Z9 GT @ BYD All-Terrain Circuit Zhengzhou Image Gallery
