Denza has introduced the Z9 GT in Malaysia, marking the electric shooting brake's regional debut outside China and the first market in Asia-Pacific to receive the updated 2026 model. The all-electric variant offers 1,156 PS, a 122.49 kWh battery, and up to 600 km WLTP range, with support for BYD's 1,500 kW Flash Charging. BYD Malaysia plans to roll out a local Flash Charging network. The vehicle also features rear-wheel steering, Intelligent Crab Walk mode, and a host of luxury and technology amenities.
Denza has launched the Z9 GT in Malaysia, representing the premium electric shooting brake's debut in the Asia-Pacific region outside China. Malaysia is also the first market in the region to receive the updated 2026 model, which features increased performance, a larger battery, and compatibility with BYD's ultra-fast Flash Charging technology.
In Malaysia, the Z9 GT is only available as an all-electric variant; globally, a plug-in hybrid version also exists. The 2026 Denza Z9 GT maintains a tri-motor all-wheel drive configuration but with significantly higher output. The front motor produces 313 PS and 430 Nm, while each rear motor is upgraded to 422 PS and 400 Nm.
The combined power reaches 1,156 PS (850 kW) with 1,210 Nm of torque, an increase of 191 PS and 100 Nm over the previous version. This enables a 0-100 km/h sprint in 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 269 km/h. The updated model incorporates BYD's second-generation Blade LFP battery, raising capacity from 100 kWh to 122.49 kWh and supporting a WLTP-rated range of up to 600 km. A key feature is support for BYD's 1,500 kW Flash Charging system.
The 1,000-volt architecture allows charging from 10% to 70% in five minutes and a 10% to 97% charge in nine minutes with compatible stations. BYD Malaysia is planning a local Flash Charging network, currently in research and planning phases, with initial chargers to be installed at select BYD and Denza dealerships and service centres.
The Z9 GT includes technologies to enhance manoeuvrability despite its large size, such as rear-wheel steering with up to 20 degrees of articulation, reducing the turning radius to 4.62 metres for a vehicle over five metres long. It also features Intelligent Crab Walk mode for diagonal movement in tight spots and the DiSus-A intelligent air suspension system, tuned for the Malaysian market based on European calibration.
The 2026 model adds a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor and new 20-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels with Continental EcoContact 7 tyres. Malaysian-spec units lack the optional digital side-view camera system available elsewhere. Inside updates comprise a flat-bottom steering wheel, a column-mounted gear selector, and a revised centre console with repositioned controls and more storage.
The dashboard includes a 17.3-inch 2.5K infotainment touchscreen, 13.2-inch displays for driver and front passenger, a 50-inch augmented reality head-up display, a 9.1-inch digital rear-view mirror, and a 6-inch touchscreen for rear passengers. The infotainment system integrates Google Automotive Services with Google Maps and Google Assistant.
Premium features encompass leather upholstery, smoked wood trim, powered, heated, ventilated, and massaged seats for all occupants, active front seat bolsters, rear leg rests, front and rear refrigerators, a panoramic glass roof, four-zone climate control, three 50W wireless charging pads, and a 20-speaker Devialet audio system with Dolby Atmos. Luggage capacity is 495 litres plus a 53-litre front trunk. Safety equipment includes nine airbags and a comprehensive advanced driver assistance system (ADAS).
Exterior colour options are Obsidian Black and Rime Gold, paired with various interior colour schemes
