Today will be dry but rain and snow are on their way. COwx
According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, Denver will be sunny and warm on Tuesday. The high temperature is forecasted to hit 69 degrees. The plains could experience some elevated fire conditions with some winds. Overnight temperatures will drop to 37 degrees downtown.
Wednesday will be mostly cloudy, with a high of 55 degrees. Meteorologists say there’s a 50% chance of rain after 1 p.m., and winds could gust near 20 mph. While it starts to rain in Denver, snow will fall in the mountains, and eventually, in the metro area. The transition to snow should happen Wednesday evening, and flakes will fall through Thursday morning. Some heavy snow along the foothills and Palmer Divide is possible, making roads slushy and slick for Thursday’s commute. The low-temperature Wednesday night into Thursday morning in Denver is slated to be 31 degrees, with the changeover from rain to snow happening between midnight and 5 a.m.
