The heat continues in Denver, according to the National Weather Service forecast, scattered storms in the mountains.
On Sunday in the city there’s a 20% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, skies will be mostly sunny and the high will hit near 92 degrees, according to the weather service. Sunday night the 20% chance for precipitation lingers in the area until 1 a.m., mostly cloudy skies will begin to gradually clear and the low temp will be around 61 degrees. Winds could gust to about 20 mph.
Monday — Labor Day — there’s a 10% chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms, the high temperature will be about 91 degrees. Winds are expected to gust to 24 mph. Storms are in the mountain forecast on Sunday and Monday, with isolated storms over the plains. Drier conditions are expected from Tuesday through the rest of the week, the weather service said, with just a slight chance of storms in and along the foothills.
