Another reason why Sicario 3 needs Denis Villeneuve is that the original cast is returning. The stars of the original Sicario, Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, and Benicio del Toro, are all returning for the third installment in the franchise. Though del Toro and Brolin were present for Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Blunt was replaced by a different female character. However, according to what is known about Sicario 3, all three actors will be in the next film.
