JOHOR BARU: The number of dengue cases in Johor is on the upward trend with 1,130 cases reported in epidemiology week eight this year compared with 205 cases in the corresponding period in 2022.

State health and unity committee chairman Ling Tian Soon said from the 1,130 cases, 400 were epidemic locality cases.

Ling said Johor Baru district had the highest number of cases at 96, followed by Kulai and Segamat .He said there were two deaths during epidemiology week eight this year compared with zero death in the corresponding period in 2022.
