Join the conversation below. Democrats also scored a big victory in Kentucky. Incumbent Republican Gov. Matt Bevin fell narrowly to Democrat Andy Beshear, though Republicans haven’t conceded defeat. That particularly delighted Democrats because the win came in the home state of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who faces his own re-election test next year, and came immediately after President Trump swooped into Kentucky to try to save the race for Mr. Bevin.
