The three Democrats trying to replace outgoing Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) all tried to make their case to California's liberal base on Sunday night.

Reps. Adam Schiff , Barbara Lee , and Katie Porter each made their case for the most labor-progressive candidate, highlighting the importance of union support in the 2024 race during an event inside the Sheraton Grand Ballroom in Sacramento. The three contenders took questions from California Labor Federation Executive Secretary-Treasurer Lorena Gonzalez.

Porter, a progressive Democrat elected to Congress in 2018 and who won her reelection bid for a newly redrawn Orange County district in November, has long supported labor unions and openly speaks out against corporate abuse. Schiff currently represents California's 30th Congressional District, serving his 12th term in the House of Representatives. Schiff has received support from various unions and protested with members of the Los Angeles Unified School District union in March.
