Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney says the Democratic party “love” US President Joe Biden as a nominee for the next election only because he can “beat” Donald Trump.
“The Democrats, they love Joe Biden because they know he can beat Donald Trump and they expect him to beat Donald Trump,” Mr Mulvaney told Sky News host James Morrow.
“But if something happens and in the middle of summer all of a sudden Tim Scott is the Republican nominee, the Democrats are going to be stuck with Joe Biden and they’ll be looking for a way to replace him.”
