Democrats have been ramping up scrutiny of the Trump administration’s decision to support toppling the Affordable Care Act

WASHINGTON—Democratic leaders in the House of Representatives are raising the prospect they could issue subpoenas after the White House failed to meet an April deadline to produce documents concerning its legal position favoring the overthrow of the Affordable Care Act.

House committee chairmen told the White House in a letter Monday that they will “have no choice but to consider alternative means of obtaining compliance” if they don’t receive a “complete response” by May 24.
