Backlash erupted on social media late last month:"Tried watching Booksmart on the plane and they cut the ENTIRE lesbian hookup scene like not even a KISS was allowed!" a Twitter userwrote on Oct. 26, referring to Etihad Airways. The controversy gained further traction when Olivia Wilde, who directed"Booksmart," joined the conversation. She quote-tweeted the above post:"This is truly a bummer. There is no nudity in this scene. What makes it too obscene for airplane viewing? What airline?"
