The recent relocation of the company’s shared services centre from Chan Sow Lin to Menara Multi-Purpose along Jalan Munshi Abdullah reflects that focus, providing a modern workplace that supports collaboration, innovation and employee wellbeing. Backed by a RM20mil investment, the new 38,000sq ft facility houses specialised operational capabilities that support Delivery Hero’s local and international businesses, spanning customer experience, process excellence, technology, finance and people operations.

Known as the Malaysia Shared Service Centre , the regional operations hub currently supports the company’s businesses across 16 markets in Asia-Pacific, Europe and Turkiye under the foodpanda, foodora and Yemeksepeti brands respectively. According to foodpanda Malaysia managing director Kenneth Soh, the investment goes beyond expanding office space; it reflects the company’s long-term confidence in Malaysian talent, and its ambition to grow the local workforce, with Malaysians expected to comprise 80% of MYSSC’s talent base by 2027.

“Malaysian talent has consistently demonstrated strong fundamentals, technical expertise, adaptability and an inherent ability to collaborate across diverse demographics, markets and people,” Soh pointed out. Soh said that the investment reflects Delivery Hero's continued efforts to become an even more localised business by developing Malaysian talent and building specialised capabilities in Malaysia. He attributed this to Malaysia’s unique combination of multilingual talent, strong digital maturity and stable connectivity to other regional markets.

“The investments reflect Delivery Hero's vision and commitment towards long-term business growth and the people in Malaysia,” he said in an interview. Soh, together with teams from foodpanda Malaysia and MYSSC, marked the relocation with a celebration featuring traditional performances and staff dressed in colourful traditional attire.

As the MYSSC continues to expand its role within the Delivery Hero ecosystem, the centre is expected to create more specialised and evolving roles while providing Malaysians with regional career opportunities and exposure to global operations. At the same time, continuous learning and development are embedded into the culture of the centre to equip and upskill the workforce, with an increased focus on artificial intelligence literacy, technology and future-ready capabilities.

“The MYSSC provides a strong career progression opportunity within the global organisation while being right at home in Malaysia,” Soh said. To strengthen the talent pipeline, the centre also runs structured internship programmes twice a year, recruiting Malaysian students across multiple functions. High-performing interns are offered the opportunity to transition into permanent roles at the company.

For foodpanda Malaysia in particular, the MYSSC serves as a key enabler, strengthening operations, enhancing service quality and building specialised capabilities that ultimately deliver better experiences for customers, delivery riders and merchant partners. Soh added that the centre facilitates knowledge-sharing across markets spanning Asia-Pacific, Europe and Turkiye, enabling the rapid exchange of best practices to strengthen foodpanda’s local operations.

“Our regional capabilities are now closer to foodpanda Malaysia, fostering stronger collaboration, operational support and quicker problem-solving. ”
