KUALA LUMPUR: Delay in tabling the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK-12) and the possible closure of all schools in Covid-19 Red Zones are among issues to be raised at the Dewan Rakyat sitting, which enters its 13th day on Tuesday (Aug 4).
Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be asking Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin why the tabling of RMK-12 was postponed from August this year to next year.
Apart from the spread of Covid-19 and recent Cabinet reshuffle cited as reason, the Anwar also wants to know the extent in which fiscal issues were also factors leading to the postponement. Datuk Liew Vui Keong will be asking Muhyiddin if the government intends to introduce a special law such as the Administration of Justice Act 2016 in Singapore to deal with the rising number of contempt of court cases.Meanwhile, Ahmad Fadhli Shaari wants to know from Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin on the role his ministry is playing and effort in helping the nation deal with the threats due to the Covid-19 global pandemic.
The Dewan Rakyat will see the resumption of Ministerial Replies on issues raised by MPs during debates on the motion of thanks on the Royal Address.The Education Ministry's decision on the possible closure of all schools in Covid-19 Red Zones, is also among the issues to be raised in Parliament, Bernama reported.
According to the Order Paper on the Parliament website, during the Minister's Question Time, Teo Nie Ching will be asking the Education Minister to state whether the ministry mulls to close all schools in Covid-19 Red Zones such as Kuching, Sarawak, and if not, state whether wearing face masks will be made mandatory.
