Presidential candidate John Delaney criticized the Democratic National Committee on Thursday for not allowing Fox News to host a primary debate.
The DNC earlier this month announced that it will not have one of its 2020 presidential primary debates on Fox News. DNC Chairman Tom Perez cited a report from The New Yorker that described a close relationship between the Trump administration and the conservative network.Hewitt pressed Delaney on why he believes the committee made "a bad decision."Sign Up
"Because, listen, I think we have to talk to everyone," Delaney replied. "And in many ways, we have a much bigger obligation to talk to those who we don't agree with on things, right?"Delaney does not qualify to be on the debate stage, which requires candidates to receive 65,000 contributions s presidential campaign from people in 20 states.
When asked how the donation program was going, Delaney said, "It’s working well, actually." He did not give a number, but maintained that "we’re making good progress."
