Nighthawks improve to 2-0 after frantic second half, win with OT rush
With both teams trying for the same goal — a 2-0 start to the football season — Friday’s nonleague game at Del Norte High was hardly what a defensive coordinator wants to remember.
It is the first time the Nighthawks have started a season 2-0 in school history, not counting the 2016 season when a forfeit from Carlsbad left Del Norte 2-0. Del Norte quarterback Jack Schneider was even better, going 19-for-33 for 320 yards and five touchdowns, including passing for 237 in the frantic second half.
