It goes without saying that Deion Sanders is eager to win his last game with Jackson State.

The Tigers aim to beat North Carolina Central in the Celebration Bowl on Saturday and cap an unbeaten season. Sanders will then turn his focus to Colorado, the next stop on his coaching journey, where he will hit the recruiting trail as soon as time allows.

Sanders thanked the athletic directors at Colorado and Jackson State for allowing him to finish what he started. Shedeur Sanders said the Tigers are eager to make up for last year’s embarrassment, losing the Celebration Bowl 31-10 to South Carolina State in the national title HBCU game. He is coming off an exceptional season with 3,396 yards passing, 36 touchdowns and six interceptions.

“You’ve got to stay in house,” Sanders said. “It’s a spiritual thing as well. This is not just a W and L thing. T.C. is not only a great man, he’s a great person who understands the game, who understands the culture, who understands the kids. I knew he was the right man for the job.”
