Deegan said that he would speak to his club manager Brian Hogan about the matter and joked that O’Loughlins chairman Eddie Buckley “might open the cheque book and cancel the flights”.
Deegan was the hero on Sunday last as he hit the winning point in the third minute of injury time to dethrone five-in-a-row champions Ballyhale Shamrocks and deliver O’Loughlins’ first county title in seven years.
The 28-year-old is one of four players from the club on the county panel along with Mikey Butler, Huw Lawlor and Conor Heary. “We’ll take a few nights to enjoy this and then we’ll refocus because we want to go as far as possible. That’s our ambition, now that our first ambition – to win a county title – is achieved.
“It’s a big challenge but that’s what you want to do, play the best,” Deegan insisted. “I suppose in 2016 we beat them as well.
