PUTRAJAYA: A former lorry driver who raped, sodomised and murdered an 85-year-old woman in 2019 has had his death sentence commuted to 40 years in prison by the Federal Court on Monday .
Justice Harmindar, who chaired the panel, also ordered Sathiaraj, 32, to be given 12 strokes of the cane. His appeal against his murder conviction and death sentence was dismissed by the Court of Appeal in February last year.
