Over 10 units responded to a two-story house fire with a man trapped inside, but unfortunately after he was saved he died from his injuries.
Fire truck on scene of a two-story house fire in Pierce County that killed a man in his 50's on June 5, 2023. Central Pierce Fire & Rescue and Graham Fire & Rescue were dispatched at 6:55 a.m. to a fire at a two-story home on 199th Street Court East, between Spanaway and Elk Plain. Upon arrival, firefighters found the home fully engulfed in flames. 12 units responded to the fire.
Neighbors shared with responding crews that they believed a person was trapped inside the burning home. While battling the fire, crews reported that the floor and rood were compromised. Firefighters located an unconscious man believed to be in his 50’s inside the home at 7:26 a.m. After getting him out of the home life-saving measures were performed.
The man was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital at 7:42 a.m. and succumbed to his injuries from the fire.
