Former Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Roger de Sa has pointed out what could be causing the club's inconsistent early form. Read more here ➡️
The defending DStv Premiership champions have already suffered two defeats in their opening six matches this campaign.
"Well, the way I see it Sundowns have so much quality, so they keep changing the line-ups," De Sa tells"I think it affects the players, playing one week then not playing. I think players aim to play every game."I think the chopping and changing of the squad sometimes can have a negative impact on the individual players who are used to playing every game at the clubs they come from.
"They were stars at those clubs, and arrive at Sundowns and become contributors to an already fantastic squad."Also opposition players are motivated when they face Sundowns, as they know they might be recruited to Sundowns. "When a league is too congested in such a short space of time, results are always going to be like that.
"You can see already that results are pretty inconsistent with no team really being consistent so far this season."I don't think any player plans to play only five or ten games per season.
