Eliminating the defending champs just got a lot more challenging for the Kings.
De’Aaron Fox, the dynamic Kings point guard, suffered a fracture at the very tip of his left index finger and will be listed as doubtful for Wednesday’s Game 5 against the Warriors., suffered the injury midway through the fourth quarter of Game 4 on Sunday.
Despite the doubtful designation, there remains hope that Fox could play for third-seeded Sacramento with a protecting covering on the finger.Fox, 25, is averaging 31 points, six rebounds and seven assists against Golden State through four games. The Kings won the first two games in Sacramento before Golden State took two straight in San Francisco,Fox, apparently playing through the injury, hit a 3-pointer to cut the Warriors’ lead to 1 in the final seconds.On the final possession, Fox — double-teamed by Steph Curry and Draymond Green — passed off to Harrison Barnes for the potential game-winning shot but the forward hit the back of the rim.
