It's no secret that the streets of Kuala Lumpur are filled with vendors selling all kinds of food items, drinks and trinkets.

It’s no secret that the streets of Kuala Lumpur are filled with vendors selling all kinds of food items, drinks and trinkets. The Kuala Lumpur City Council took to their Twitter page to showcase how they had spent the last couple of days cracking down on illegal street vendors, run by foreigners, in Bukit Bintang.

They wrote, “Seizure operation and foreign vendor obstacle movement at Jalan Alor, Bukit Bintang. For any complaints, members of the public can contact us or share information here.”In the posts, DBKL enforcement officers could be seen confronting the foreigners who were running the illegal stalls and seizing all of their equipment.

Appreciative of their efforts, Malaysians have since thanked DBKL and urged them to be consistent in ensuring the vendors don’t return. “Make this special operation a daily routine! Instead of it being a seasonal operation. The people are observing the actions and behaviour of Malaysia’s law enforcement.”“Good job! That area will become less congested.”What do you think of DBKL’s crackdown on illegal vendors in Kuala Lumpur? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
