DBanj, Seun Kuti were in attendance as the Lagos State Government confirms its commitment to promoting African fashion and establishing it as a global brand.
The fashion show forms part of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture’s broader initiative to support and elevate Lagos’ creative industries through partnerships, funding programs, and international collaborations.
“The Ministry will continue to enhance the visibility and impact of Lagos’s creative talents on the global stage,” Benson-Awoyinka said. She emphasised that the VVS Lagos Fashion Show aims to redefine the perception of African fashion, establishing it as a dynamic and influential force in the global industry.
Benson-Awoyinka highlighted the VVS Lagos Fashion Show as an example of the vibrant and evolving nature of African fashion. “We are proud to support such initiatives that showcase our rich cultural heritage and position Lagos as a global hub for creative excellence,” she said.Permanent Secretary Mrs. Oloruntoyin Atekoja echoed this sentiment, stating that events like the VVS Lagos Fashion Show highlight the immense potential and talent within the creative industries.
