In an opinion piece published Tuesday Pocock accused Woodside of using the Dockers to greenwash their image in WA while the company continued expansion of fossil fuel projects in the face of alarming science around worsening climate change.
But no doubt she talked about the important role of gas in the clean energy transition
“Woodside gets to chat directly with the playing group to pedal their greenwashing guff, and we can’t even get a return email. It’s more than disappointing, it’s a disturbing display of the influence sponsorship money buys you and the way it silences real conversations about the harm of fossil fuels,” she said.
“Woodside’s target markets in Japan, China and Republic of Korea have all set national net zero targets and continue to use gas as part of their energy mix.”
