As campaigns to Release the Ayer Cut of Suicide Squad continue, director David Ayer confirms that he's shown the cut to a fan. Released in 2016, Suicide Squad was met with overwhelmingly negative reviews from both critics and fans. Like James Gunn's 2021 reboot, The Suicide Squad, the film chronicles the assembly of a top-secret government task force of super villains who are tasked with saving the world.
