Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman , former Deputy Chairman of UMNO 's Shah Alam division, has made a comeback to the party after submitting his appeal to the UMNO Exco four times. His application was finally accepted, marking his return to UMNO . President of UMNO , Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi , praised Tajuddin's commitment and loyalty to the party, citing his willingness to campaign for UMNO in the Small Election (PRK) of Nenggiri and Mahkota.
Tajuddin was suspended from the party in September 2022 for six years due to his criticism of the party, including issues related to the timing of the 15th General Election (PRU15). Other suspended members were former Deputy President, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, and former Chief Spokesperson, Shahril Sufian Hamdan. UMNO Exco can make decisions to reinstate any party members who have been suspended, provided they remain loyal to UMNO, as stated by Ahmad Zahid
