Bursa Malaysia Berhad (Bursa Malaysia) has announced the appointment of Datuk Fad'l Mohamed as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), succeeding Datuk Muhamad Umar Swift, effective March 1, 2025. The decision was made by the board of directors in line with the bourse's succession plan and with Muhamad Umar's impending retirement, who has served as CEO of Bursa Malaysia since February 2019. The Securities Commission (SC) has also granted its approval for the appointment of the new CEO in accordance with Section 10 of the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007.

PETALING JAYA: Bursa Malaysia Berhad mengumumkan pelantikan Datuk Fad’l Mohamed sebagai Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Bursa Malaysia baharu, menggantikan Datuk Muhamad Umar Swift , berkuat kuasa 1 Mac 2025.

Pengerusi Bursa Malaysia, Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar berkata, pihak lembaga pengarah mengalu-alukan Fad’l sebagai CEO seterusnya untuk membawa Bursa Malaysia ke hadapan, di bina atas kemajuan kukuh yang diletakkan oleh Muhamad Umar. Fad’l, 57, mempunyai pengalaman lebih 30 tahun dalam bidang perundangan, pasaran modal dan perbankan pelaburan serta kini merupakan Pengarah Urusan, Perbankan Borong Kumpulan RHB Bank Berhad dan sebelum ini merupakan CEO Maybank Investment Bank.

Fad’l memiliki Ijazah Sarjana Pentadbiran Perniagaan dari Imperial College London, United Kingdom dan Ijazah Sarjana Muda Undang-undang dari University of London, UK. Abdul Wahid merakamkan setinggi-tinggi penghargaan kepada Muhamad Umar atas sumbangan dan kepimpinan cemerlang beliau yang ditandai dengan inovasi, integriti serta komitmen yang mendalam dan pendekatan kolaboratif untuk memenuhi keperluan pelbagai pihak berkepentingan kami, dan negara.
